Sutton were delighted to have Arsenal in the FA Cup and there were other side attractions.
PIERS MORGAN has got roly-poly goalkeeper Wayne Shaw to agree a move to Arsenal – in exchange for six Cornish pasties!
The TV presenter tweeted this morning: “BREAKING: Global football legend Wayne Shaw just agreed to transfer from @suttonunited to @Arsenal for 6 Cornish pasties. @GMB”
It follows a hilarious chat the pair had on ITV show Good Morning Britain.
The 20-stone stopper is Sutton’s No.2 and was on the bench for the FA Cup clash with Arsenal last night.
His side lost 2-0 but Shaw stole the headlines after eating a pie during the game.
Huge Arsenal fan Morgan asked Shaw today: “What would it take to prise you and your pies out of Sutton to Arsenal?”
Shaw pointed at a plate of four pasties on the studio sofa and said: “I think two more than the four you’ve got there.”
Co-host Susannah Reid told Morgan to up his bid and said: “So let me just clarify, for six Cornish pasties you will sign for Arsenal.”
Shaw laughed and said: “Definitely!”
But it’s not all fun and games for the stopper. The FA have confirmed they are probing whether he broke any of their betting rules by eating a pie against Arsenal.
Shaw admitted the defeat that he believed people placed money on the 8/1 on offer for him to be shown eating a pie in the dugout during the match.
An FA spokesperson said: “We are investigating to establish whether there has been any breach of The FA rules relating to betting.”
