With a big crowd gathering at the Emirates and camera’s catching everything, six of Arsenal’s first team players emerged in front of the stadium that was covered by a curtain. The players were all wearing blue and yellow training tracksuits.
Slowly the curtain was lowered the reveal the players on a banner spread over the corner of the Clock End and West Stand. Carl Jenkinson was next to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs. Then the players took off their tracksuits to reveal the away colours on themselves.
It was a big launch for a kit unveiling and Arsenal did it in style. This is the last kit Nike will manufacture for Arsenal before the club embark on their new partnership with Puma and it was showed off in style. The traditional yellow and blue that is etched on so many Arsenal away designs is back.
Theo Walcott thinks the design is a perfect fit for the club. “Arsenal is synonymous with yellow and blue and I think this new design fuses that tradition with a modern twist. I can’t wait to get out on the pitch and wear it!”The Gunners will wear the kit for their pre-season tour of the Far East before reverting back to their red and white strip for the Emirates Cup.
The first competitive fixture for this design will be September 14th vs. Sunderland, unless Arsenal are paired with a team in the Champions League qualifiers that requires this new set.
