ARSENAL have been drawn to play Tottenham in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup after both teams navigated their way through round four on Wednesday night.

The Gunners secured a 2-1 win at home to Blackpool, while Spurs, playing just 48 hours after losing to Manchester City in the Premier League, beat West Ham 3-1 at the London Stadium.

Arsenal full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner slid in his first goal since joining from Juventus before teenager Emile Smith Rowe doubled the Premier League giants’ lead after half-time.

But after Matteo Guendouzi was given a second yellow card for pulling back Jordan Thompson, Blackpool rallied and pulled one back through Paudie O’Connor.

That led to a nervy finish for the home side until O’Connor was shown a straight red card for a tackle on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Immediately after the match, the draw for the quarter-final was made and the great rivals were pitted against each other.
It will be Unai Emery’s second taste of the north London derby, with the two teams set to play each other first in the Premier League on December 2.

And Gunners star Mesut Ozil, who did not feature against Blackpool at the Emirates, appears to be happy with the draw.

In a post on Instagram, the German posted a picture of the draw, asking fans what they thought.
