Celtic have been backed to sign Armstrong Okoflex from Arsenal, according to reports.

Okoflex, the 16-year-old forward, has yet to sign a scholarship with Arsenal and he was not at the Gunners’ pre-season training.

This has led to suggestions he could leave the north Londoners this summer, and Celtic have been tipped to secure the youngster’s signature.

It is reported by the Scottish Sun that a welcome message for Okoflex was captured on the big screens at Parkhead on Friday morning, reading: ‘Armstrong Okoflex, welcome to Celtic Football Club’.

Furthermore, another picture came out on social media showing the teenager holding a Celtic strip with his surname on the back.

Born in Dublin, Okoflex has represented both Ireland and England at youth level, and he made seven appearances for Arsenal Under-18s last season; he is also eligible to represent Nigeria on the international stage.Able to play on either flank, as well as in a central striking role, Okoflex was largely selected as a left winger last term, and he put in an eye-catching performance in Arsenal Under-18’s 5-1 defeat of West Ham, grabbing a goal and an assist from that position.
