Santi Cazorla is stepping up his return from his Achilles injury.
Arsenal star Cazorla snapped himself smiling mid-workout on a mat with weights scattered around the space.
The midfielder posted the picture on Instagram alongside the caption: “Keep pushing!! Onedaymoreonedaycloser!”
The Spaniard hasn’t appeared for the Gunners since going off injured against Ludogorets in the Champions League last October.
Cazorla is set to miss the start of next season as well, with his teammates starting their pre-season preparations this week at London Colney.
The 32-year-old isn’t expected to see action until December – 14 months after his last outing.
He previously admitted he considered retiring during his long battle with injury.
“You feel like throwing in the towel but my desire to play football is above everything,” Cazorla told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
“I haven’t been given a timeframe. It’s very difficult to put a date, but I don’t think it will be before five months.”
