Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may have added two attacking options to his squad over the January transfer window however, he wants more in the summer.
Both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined the Gunners last month with Alexis Sanchez leaving for Man United.
According to a report in the Daily Star, Wenger has now set his sights on Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.
Per the source, the French tactician Wenger plans to lure Meyer with the prospect of playing alongside Mesut Ozil.
However, the report goes onto state that Arsenal face competition from Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Milan, who are also interested.
Max Meyer has entered the final four months of his contract with Schalke and could end up leaving the club for free in the summer.
The 22-year-old has represented the Germany national team 58 times at youth level.
Shalke chief Christian Heidel refused to rule out his departure when recently questioned on the subject.
