Bayern Munich are ready to spend big to lure Arsenal and Liverpool target Ivan Rakitic back to the Bundesliga.

The Croatian is an integral member of the Barcelona first team and has started 27 La Liga games this term.

However it has been suggested that Rakitic could be marginalised should Barca complete the signing of Antoine Griezmann, while fellow midfielder Arthur will also join in the summer.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a move for Rakitic and will be encouraged by the suggestion that he could be moved on when the transfer window opens.

But they could be beaten to the punch by Bayern Munich who have already got the ball rolling on a move, according to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.

It has been claimed that Bayern will lodge a formal offer worth £70m in a bid to tempt Barca, who have already spent £35m on Arthur, into selling a player who turned 30 last month.

Rakitic has fond memories of Germany following four seasons at Schalke before his move to Sevilla in 2010 and Bayern hope he would be open to heading back.
