Arsenal started the season poorly with defeat to Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in their League opener and a draw with Leicester City at the Kingpower Stadium.
Yesterday, Arsenal had a comfortable cruise over Watford City with three goals coming in the first half of the game. Ozil was recalled to first team action, where he played ahead of Granit Xhaka and Santi Cazorla in midfield.
Alexis Sanchez was brought down in the 18-Yard box and we were given a penalty. Santi saw that one got past the goalkeeper and the second game from a Theo Walcott assist for Alexis who netted the second goal. The understanding between Ozil and Sanchez is not worthy, Sanchez found the Germa with him inch perfect pass for a beautiful header.
It’s no longer a case of ‘Get it to Mesut’ and see what he can do, Xhaka was pinging long passes, stretching the Watford defence, and even laying them on a plate from deep as he did with a fantastic pass to Theo Walcott at one stage.
Xhaka was fantastic in the game and he was spotted with Mesut Ozil after the game, where he also tweeted>
“Finally the ice is broken First three points in this young season. #WFCvAFC #AFC #YaGunnersYa @arsenal”
Arsenal now have their first three points of the season and we will hoping to build on this result when we face Southampton at the Emirates after the international break.
