Photo: Coquelin To Start Against Burnley? Makes Shock Training Return

Bar the players injured before the start of this season, Arsenal have had a relatively lower injury record than previous seasons.

Francis Coquelin has a made an unprecedented return to training, after the player limped off the pitch in the Premier League game against Chelsea last weekend.

It was reported that he injured his cruciate ligament, and we all feared the worse.

However, for once, it seems as if the Football Gods were on our side and the Frenchman should only be sidelined forthree weeks, according to the boss.

Speaking ahead of the Burnley game, Wenger said he was optimistic that the player would return in no time.

“[Coquelin’s recovery is much quicker than we expected ] because his ligament was not damaged as we thought,” the boss said.

“He is keen to start again but we have to be cautious. We have plenty of games coming up but for us now we work in cycles of three, week by week we play three games, so we have done Chelsea, Basel and it’s now to show that we can finish well the week.”

The 25-year-old started training ahead of our trip to the Turf Moore, which is obviously a good sign.

In his absence, Granit Xhaka has been doing very well but we’ll still prefer to have a fully fit squad that will pose selection headache for Wenger

It’s good to see that his knee injury wasn’t as bad as we first thought and he’s healing well; how often do we get to say that?
