Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to make his Arsenal debut against Everton this weekend

Arsenal’s new club record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has shared a message to the club’s fans following his first training session with his new teammates on Thursday.

The Gabon international finally completed his long-awaited move from Borussia Dortmund on transfer deadline day as the Gunners shelled out £56m for his services.

Following his arrival at the club, it was announced that Aubameyang would take on the number 14 shirt previously worn by Thierry Henry left vacant by Theo Walcott’s departure for Everton.

With the Gunners set to make the trip to Merseyside to take on the Toffees tomorrow, Aubameyang linked up with his new teammates at the club’s training ground in London Colney.

After his debut session, the 28-year-old posted a picture on Instagram celebrating a successful first run out at Colney and paid tribute to Arsenal legend – and current coach – Robert Pires, saying it was an honour to train alongside him.

“First training session,” Aubameyang wrote in his Instagram post, “and honored to have been in the company of a club legend Robert Pires.”

The newest Gunner is expected to make his Arsenal debut at Goodison Park on Saturday evening as Arsene Wenger’s men look to put their poor January form behind them.
