Schalke have completed the signing of talented young midfielder Amine Harit from Nantes on a four-year deal.
Harit, who has represented France at various youth levels, has been allocated the number 20 shirt at Schalke.
The starlet told the club’s official website: “This change is a big step in my career and I am convinced that at such a club I can develop into the player I want to be.”
“Me and Schalke have a good connection – Raul, the games in the Champions League: I’ve been following everything just like the games of last season in the Europa League against Nice.”
Harit joined Nantes as a youth player and went on to make 34 senior appearances for the club. He had previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, as reported by goal.
He was part of the France squad that won the U19 European Championship for that age group last year and is an extremely exciting prospect.
Harit completed 88 take-ons in Ligue 1 last season, more than any other Nantes player. Their next best was Lucas Lima, who successfully performed fewer than half Harit’s total (32).
Schalke finished in tenth place in the Bundesliga last season and will hope to fare better next campaign.
