Arsene Wenger celebrates his 67th year birthday and we cannot but send our best wishes to him as he continues to lift Arsenal to greater heights.
Wenger has spent a score of his life managing Arsenal – the best that can be offered to him is a win over Boro later today and i am counting on Ozil, Iwobi, Walcott and Sanchez to inflict damage to Middlesbrough.
Wenger was born on 22 October 1949 in Strasbourg, Alsace, France, to Alphonse and Louise Wenger. Arsène was the third of their three children. He lived in Duppigheim during the 1950s, but spent most of his time in the neighbouring village of Duttleheim, ten miles south-west of Strasbourg.
According to his father, who also managed the village team, Wenger was introduced to football “at about the age of six”. He was taken to games in Germany, where he held an affection for Borrusia Monchengladback.
Wenger was appointed to the helms of Arsenal’s affairs after they sacked Bruce Rioch in 1996. He re was unknown at that time and players were uncomfortable with his appointment.
Wenger is in the final year of his contract and opinions are divided if he should be handed an extension or quit. We got a fan’s opinion that obviously wants Wenger out at the end of this season.
