David Ospina has confirmed that he’s told Arsenal he’s leaving this summer amid strong rumours that he and Fenerbahce have agreed personal terms
Ospina has made it clear that he wants out of Arsenal. Not necesarily because he doesn’t want to be at the club anymore but he’s just no longer prepared to be number two… who would?
The goalkeeper, while putting in a couple of decent enough performances in the Champions League this season, has proven more often than not that he’s just not up to Arsenal’s standards and with Wojciech Szczesny returning from his loan spell at Roma, Ospina really has no place in the current squad.
Speaking to Turkish outlet Fanatik, the Colombia international made it very clear that he’s pushing for a move this summer.
“I told my club [Arsenal] that I want to go to a team where I’ll play regularly,” he said.
“They know my intention.
“If the right offer comes, then I’ll happily come to Turkey.
“My agent is taking care of transfer business. In fact, I’m happy at Arsenal but I have to play regularly.
“I told them exactly that. Arsenal’s board told me they will not be making things difficult for me if the right offer comes in.
“Let’s see what the future brings.”
According to the same outlet, the goalkeeper has agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce, who have been strongly linked with Ospina for a while, after an ‘official’ visited London to discuss a potential deal.
Fenerbahce are supposedly paying £3m for the 28-year-old, who’s signing with them for four years.
