Arsenal and Spanish wonder kid Jon Toral, dubbed the next Cesc Fabregas is set to continue his development on loan with Spanish side Granada on a one-year season loan deal. Granada made the announcement on their official twitter handle saying “Talented young midfielder Jon Toral has joined #GranadaCF on loan from @Arsenal for the 2016/17 season.#ToralNazari”
Toral who has spent the last two seasons at Brentford and Birmingham City respectively has been unable to break into Arsenal’s first team with the likes of Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere, Iwobi and Carzola at the disposal of Wenger. Toral a former Barcelona academy product joined Arsenal in 2011 alongside close pal Hector Bellerin.
Toral was named Birmingham player of the season and Supporters’ Player of the season after making 36 appearances and scoring 8 goals last season. The sensational midfielder also bagged Goal of the season award with a dipping volley from 25 yards against Ipswich Town.
Toral who can play on either flank or especially as a number 10 is yet to make a senior competitive appearance for Arsenal till date having seen his development hampered by injury to both knees.
Wenger sees Toral as a long term successor of Mesut Ozil and is hoping the more game time the Spanish player gets, the closer he comes to realizing his potential.
