From all indication, Arsenal are in the market for a new striker this summer hence the several links to various strikers. However, according to reports from France, Arsenal are on the verge of finally signing a striker. And that striker is no other than Lyon’s Alexander Lacazette. According to reports emanating from France, Arsenal have agreed personal terms with the player and are hoping to reach an agreement with Lyon.
And interestingly, the same report claim Lyon are close to the signing of Racing Club of Belgium striker Roger Martinez. Martinez who represented Colombian at the Copa America in June is highly rated in both Belgium and in South America. He is said to have a release clause of €8 million which Lyon are said to be ready to activate.
Lyon president and owner Jean-Michael Aulas has recently confirmed Arsenal is yet to make a bid for the player but why will Lyon be looking for another striker if they are sure Lacazette is staying. It is obvious the French club are convinced Wenger will still come in for the player and are merely preparing them in advance.
Signing Lacazette will be interesting for Arsenal. He is the cheapest available striker. Especially with Real Madrid said not to be ready to sell Morata any more.
