Arsenal mixed form for this term has been attributed to the absence of midfield maestro Santi Cazorla.
The diminutive Spaniard has been out injured for some time and recent reports have indicated that we may not have him soon, probable for the rest of this season.
Santi Cazorla reportedly needs a second operation on an ankle problem that has kept him out for much of the season.
Arsene Wenger has not been clear on when the 32-year-old would return, but his latest comments suggest it is more bad news for Arsenal fans hoping to see the fan-favourite back soon.
‘Santi had a little procedure and we have a meeting with the medical people to see what it was really,’ Wenger said.
‘Certainly he will not be available in the next six weeks that is for sure.’
Wenger did, however, seem slightly optimistic that Cazorla would play again for Arsenal this season, saying: ‘I hope so because once you start to go out, you have to count six weeks preparation.
‘At the moment he is not at that level. Let’s hope he can come back in the next three or four weeks on the pitch.’
