Arsenal could hand Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their first starts against Everton however the latter is a doubt with illness.

The expectation was for Mkhitaryan to start against Swansea, but he ended up on the bench. So it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Aubameyang was “eased in” as well – if he’s fit to play at all.

It’s also difficult to predict how Arsenal’s midfield and attack could look on Saturday.

The defence is straightforward enough. Petr Cech will keep his place, even after his horrendous error against Swansea. Hector Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi and Nacho Monreal should also make up the usual back four.

Then we get to the midfield. Jack Wilshere was ill for the Swansea game but should be back for Everton, so he could come back into the team.

It’d be a chance to drop Granit Xhaka after his poor form, especially with Mohamed Elneny doing well in the holding role. In which case, we could see Elneny, Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey form a midfield three.

Mesut Ozil will start provided he’s fit. He could line-up alongside either Mkhitaryan or Alex Iwobi. Perhaps the pressure to get a win will see Wenger go with his new signing instead of continuity with Iwobi.

Finally, there’s the big question: Alexandre Lacazette or Aubameyang? Well, it was a big question until Wenger’s press conference on Friday when he admitted the former Dortmund man is still running a fever.

The dream is to see them play together, but with the Frenchman looking jaded in recent weeks, it might have also been a chance to rest him.

That looks unlikely now

So, our line-up could be:

Cech – Bellerin, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal – Ramsey, Elneny, Wilshere – Ozil, Mkhitaryan – Lacazette.
