OFFICIALS In London, Arsenal To Complete Transfer Of £65,000-A-Week

If report in the British media is anything to go by, Arsenal are on the verge of completing yet another transfer deal. According to various reports today, Italian Serie A side AS Roma are still hoping to finalize a deal with Emirate club Arsenal over a deal for their Polish international goal keeper Wojciech Szczesny who spent the whole of last season on loan at the Capital club.

The Arsenal goal keeper joined Capital city club AS Roma last summer on loan after being displaced between the sticks by former Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech as first-choice goalkeeper at the North London club.

It was initially reported that the Serie A club had given up on a new deal to retain the player at Roma for the Polish goal keeper Szczesny after failing to finalize an agreement with Arsenal over financial requirements.

The transfer however could be back on track, following report suggesting that AS Roma director Walter Sabatini will fly over to London to meet up with Arsenal officials during his trip to England later this week.

Roma are set to table a permanent transfer or another season-long loan deal for the 2016/17 season to the Gunners’ goalkeeper according to Corriere dello Sport.

AS Roma are believed to be interested in retaining Szczesny for one more season after his performances last season at the Capital city club, which saw him keep 9 clean sheets in 42 games in all competitions.

Szczesny, 26, is expected to return to Arsenal by the end of next month after his participation at the ongoing European championship was ended on Thursday through Portugal’s victory over Poland in a quarter-final penalty shootout.
