Arsenal are keeping tabs on Yannick Carrasco’s situation at Atletico Madrid and are prepared to make a move this summer, according to reports. The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Diego Simeone and has started just 10 games in La Liga and the Champions League this season. Reports in Spain have claimed that Simeone has informed Atletico’s hierarchy that Carrasco can be sold in the January transfer window. But according to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are willing to wait until the end of the season and are prepared to spend up to €50 million (£40m) on the Belgian this summer.
Carrasco, who has a €100m (£88m) release clause, has a contract with Atletico until 2022. Last season, Carrasco hit his best form with 10 goals and four assists in 35 La Liga appearances. Arsenal, meanwhile, could be in the market for another wide option after allowing both Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott to leave this month.
