Arsenal bolstered their already star-studded squad during the summer and the club is yet looking to hold on some stars players for the foreseeable future.
According to latest report, Mesut Ozil has agreed a new deal that will see him remain at Arsenal until at least 2021.
Ozil joined Arsenal in the summer of 2013 in a club record deal worth £42.5m from Real Madrid. The 27-year-old has been handed the number 10 jersey after it appeared as a clause in the contract.
Ozil has developed an understanding with Sanchez in attack and he has also established himself as the chief assist maker for Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger supposedly made tying down the German World Cup winner a top priority this summer, with just two years left to run on his original contract.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday evening, Sport Bild journalist Henning Feindt revealed a fresh deal has been agreed.
“Mesut Ozil gets a new mega contract at Arsenal!” he wrote.
“Among other things, it states he will wear the number 10 [shirt] instead of 11.
“It will be in all newspapers tomorrow. [Wednesday]”
Although the length of the agreement and any wage rise has not yet been disclosed, The Sun suggest the former Schalke youngster is now his team’s highest-paid player.
