MARCO ASENSIO has reportedly warned Real Madrid he has a host of offers from the Premier League and will consider them if he does not get more game time.
The Spaniard starred in Real Madrid’s 5-3 win against Real Betis last night, scoring twice at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
But Asensio has been limited to playing time this season with Zinedine Zidane failing to guarantee him a starting spot in the team.
And Spanish publication Diario Gol claim Asensio is not willing to put up with it for another campaign.
Zidane’s job is already thought to be on the line with the club 17 points behind leaders Barcelona in the Premier League.
And it seems Asensio is also pushing for the Frenchman to be shown the door.
iario Gol claim the 22-year-old has spoken with club president Florentino Perez and warned him he will have to consider his Madrid future if Zidane stays in charge and things don’t change.
And Asensio has made it clear he is not short of offers.
The report claims Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich all expressed interest in the January transfer window and they won’t be afraid to return at the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho has already made it clear he needs to sign a new midfielder to replace the soon-to-be retired Michael Carrick, while Arsene Wenger remains keen to bolster his attacking options in the hope the club will be back in the Champions League next season.
But Chelsea are thought to be the leading contenders to snap up Asensio if he becomes available with the Blues long-term admirers.
Chelsea have a good relationship with Real too, having negotiated the transfer of Alvaro Morata last summer.
But any move to take Asensio away from the Spanish capital will see Perez need to be convinced into letting him go.
Perez is determined to keep hold of the Spain international and has pleaded with Asensio to wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future.
Asensio’s current contract with Los Blancos runs until 2023.
