With just a couple of weeks left in the summer transfer window, a new, exciting rumour popped up on Thursday.
Draxler, the German World Cup winner, joined PSG in January for £35.5m from Wolfsburg.
He impressed at times in his debut season for the French giants, but the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona could push Draxler towards the exit door.
Aside from simple struggling to lock down a first team place at PSG, Draxler could be sold as the Ligue 1 club try to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.
And what about Arsenal? After Arsene Wenger appears to have missed out on Thomas Lemar, could Draxler be a smart alternative?
The Times claimed Arsenal might move for PSG’s 23-year-old, who could be available for around £32 million.
Roger Wittmann reacts
Less than twenty four hours after the Draxler rumours first popped up, the player’s agent, Roger Wittmann, has reacted.
Roger Wittmann has spoken to Germany’s Sport 1, and he’s strongly denied that Draxler to Arsenal is happening.
Wittmann has said he “doesn’t care” what’s being written in the press about his client joining the Gunners. He stated “there’s no sign of a change.”
As if that wasn’t clear enough, Wittmann also said that Draxler is “untransferable”.
