The Sun who cites report in Spain Estadio Deportivo claims Arsenal new boss is interested in signing Steven Nzonzi, who he coached at Sevilla.
Nzonzi is a familiar name that has been linked with a move to Arsenal as former Gunner boss Arsene Wenger have shown interest in signing the talented midfielder in the previous transfer window.
Emery used to work with the France international at Sevilla, signing from Stoke for just £7m in 2012.
Arsenal will have to convince Sevilla boss Pablo Machin who has insisted that the 29-year-old will remain with the La Liga side next season.
He said: “I think he has been here for many years and rumours have always been heard.
“It’s clear that he is an excellent footballer and what I want is to get the most out of him.
“I trust that he can continue being a Sevilla player until the end of his contract [until 2019].”
It is believed Arsenal will have to pay £35m in signing the Sevilla midfielder.
