Arsene Wenger wants to bring the Lyon midfielder to north London this summer
Arsenal hopes of landing Corentin Tolisso this summer have been boosted.
The Lyon midfielder is one of Arsene Wenger’s top targets as the Gunners boss looks to revamp his squad ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
If, as expected, Wenger pens a contract extension in the coming days, the Frenchman is expected to push hard to land his 22-year-old countryman.
And his chances have been boosted by the news that Juventus have ended their interest in Tolisso.
The Serie A champions were favourites to land the midfielder, but reports in Italy suggest they have pulled out of the running after being put off by Lyon’s valuation.
The Ligue 1 side, who missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League, are said to be demanding around the £50 million mark for the France international.
Tolisso, who scored 13 goals in 46 appearances last season, has previously admitted that he dreams of playing for Arsenal.
“Many clubs make me dream like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and England with teams like Arsenal,” he said.
“I like the Premier League and I think I am well suited to it.
“It is the league that offers the most competition, it is the most open, the most hard-fought and the most spectacular.”
