ARSENAL are in talks with clubs over the sale of a number of players, Arsene Wenger has revealed.
Arsenal have been busy this summer, setting a new club transfer record with the £52million acquisition of Alexandre Lacazette.
The Gunners have also snapped up former Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer and are being linked with Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.
However, the north London club also have a lot of fringe players to shift, with Kieran Gibbs, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy among those tipped to leave.
And Arsene Wenger has confirmed the club are in talks with a number of sides regarding the sale of their unwanted players.
When asked about members of the squad like Gibbs moving on this summer, Wenger replied: “There are talks, yes.
“There is contact but we are not close.”
Along with fringe players like Gibbs and Debuchy, Arsenal are also reportedly battling to keep some of their stars.
Alexis Sanchez is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with Chelsea.
However, Wenger has insisted the Gunners are in a strong financial position and will not be forced into selling their influential players this summer.
“We are in a strong financial situation,” Wenger added.
“So we want to keep our best players.
“You can see that there is a fight everywhere to get top players.”
