Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are set to miss out on signing ‘the new Harry Kane’, as Bayern Munich close in on a deal for an 18-year-old Hamburg attacker.

According to Bild, the Bundesliga champions are set to sign Jann-Fiete Arp from relegated Hamburg for a fee of just €1.5m.

Arp has played 18 times for Hamburg, becoming the first ever player born in 2000 to play in the Bundesliga.

However, with his contract expiring next summer, and with Hamburg having been relegated, Bayern are set to pounce for the young striker.

Premier League duo Arsenal, Tottenham had also been tracking Arp, whilst Chelsea were also heavily interested.

Arp has scored 18 goals in 19 games for Germany’s U17 side, and has drawn comparisons to Kane for his 6’2″ frame and range of goals.

He told UEFA in 2017: “There are many good strikers that you can learn a lot from by watching. But if there was just one player I had to pick as my role model, it’s Harry Kane. He plays the way I want to play. He’s quick and very comfortable with and without the ball. It’s difficult to stop him.

“You need to pay attention for 90 minutes because he can score at any time.”

However, it seems unlikely that Arp will be teaming up with his inspiration, as Bayern hone in on his signature.
