No matter the display and tactical prowess of the current players of Arsenal, the club must be on the look out for talent that will eventually be in the boot of our now stars.
According to latest reports, Arsenal are preparing a swoop for Atalanta midfielder Kessie, as claimed by the player’s agent.
The report claims the impressive youngster, who has been dubbed as the new Yaya Toure, has been in the transfer wish list of various top Europe clubs following his impressive cameos for his Seria A Club.
Toure infamously nearly moved to the north Londoners, but was unable to get a work permit before going on to become one of the best midfielders in the game.
Kessie’s agent told Goal: ‘They [Arsenal] were here in Italy to watch him.
‘Arsenal are a good team but there are a lot of teams interested in him so they’re not the only possible destination.’
The Gunners scout was reportedly spotted watching the youngster when Atalanta took on Palermo last Wednesday.
Despite playing from the midfield, Kessie has already netted four goals in five Seria A games, the same number he scored in the Seria B last season.
Arsenal have signed Granit Xhaka this summer to add some more bite to their midfield, but could see the Ivory Coast international as someone to play alongside the Swiss in the long term.
