There have been conflicting reports over the future of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, with some saying his wage demand is stalling talks while other reports claim his future at the Emirates is tied to Wenger’s.
Arsenal new boy Lucas Perez has dismissed the possibility of Ozil moving away from the Emirates, with claims that Arsenal are equally as big as any of the clubs chasing him.
Beginning this season, Ozil has shone for us and he scored his first professional hatrick in the 6-0 demolition of Ludogrets in the Champions League.
Ozil’s current contract runs out in 2018 and some reports have claimed that he wants a £250,000-a-week deal but Arsenal reportedly wants to offer a little less than his demand.
There were reports linking his with a return to Real Madrid in the summer – who could meet his wage demand without discomfort.
However, speaking to Spanish radio station Onda Cero team-mate Perez has had his say on the situation and his take may come as some comfort to any despairing Arsenal fans.
“No, I don’t think Ozil wants to return to Spain,” the summer signing said.
“You never know: Real Madrid is a big club – but so is Arsenal.”
