Official: Arsenal Open Talks With Star German Winger Ahead Of Liverpool Game – Not Draxler

Although, Arsenal have not been able to bring in quality players to the Emirates, Wenger has succeeded in keeping the crop of his first team players from their suitors.

Arsenal have opened talks with Germany international Serge Gnabry over extending his stay at the Emirates beyond the expiration of his current contract that will expire next summer.

Gnabry, 21, join Arsenal in 2011  in a £100,000 that was agreed in the summer 2010 – he had to wait until 16 to make the switch.

The impressive winger ascended to the highest grade of Arsenal but was sent on loan to WestBromwich last season. However, he was recalled to Arsenal in January after lacking first team action.

Gnabry has been one of the standout stars at the Olympics, scoring five goals in their first three games, with a brace coming in two.

Usually Arsenal open talks when a player has two years left on his deal but in this case they no doubt wanted to see how he will recover from a niggling injury before deciding if they wanted to renew.

His talent has never been in doubt and hopefully he can really step up this season, either with the seniors or out on loan which seems more likely.

Bild also claim that Hertha BSC are interested in signing him permanently with the German site thinking €2m would be an adequate price for Gnabry as long as he doesn’t agree an extension with Arsenal.
