Arsenal have now finally confirmed the signing of 19 year old Nigeria under 21 defender on a 2 years deal. Just last week, we reported the signing of the former Charlton man after the player himself confirmed via his twitter account he had signed for the gunners. Arsenal earlier today made the announcement official claiming the club has signed the highly sought after defender Semi Ajayi after having a successful trials with them.
The 19 year old defender is a central defender who can also play in midfield and everywhere else in defense. He was recently called into the Nigeria Under 20 team in preparation for the recently concluded under 20 world cup but didn’t make the final team to the tournament proper.
Before he signed for Arsenal, he also had trials with Norwich city who made him a 6 months offer which the player turned down. He played for 2 weeks for Arsenal youth team as a player on trial before he was given a full contract.
Although Semi is quite inexperience as he has only ever played in the lower divisions in England, it is expected that he is good enough for Arsenal reserve teams where he will likely high up to ladder to the first team level should he make the cut.
