Time was when Arsenal sold some of their players to other team as we were not able to fend off suitors for those players.
Those days have now gone by and Arsenal are able to hold onto our star players.
Report emanated earlier that Hector Bellerin was on the transfer radar of Barcelona and Manchester City. Earlier this week, Arsene Wenger quashed the possibility of the player jumping ship to another club, saying Bellerin’s long term future is with Arsenal.
However, Barcelona’s interest in Bellerin has been reported several times in the past, and Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reiterate it on Sunday. It’s reported Aleix Vidal could leave the club in the near future, and Barcelona would want to replace him with Bellerin, a long time favourite story of the Catalan media.
Bellerin is described as ‘one of the most promising players in the world’ and Mundo Deportivo say he could ‘succeed wherever he wants’.
However, that means the 21-year-old is wanted by several clubs in Europe, and Arsenal are negotiating a new contract with the Spaniard. Mundo Deportivo say it’s difficult to know the future of Bellerin, abut point out Arsenal are no fools in this situation, and are doing everything to get the player secured.
