According to reports across the English media, Arsenal are considering a January swoop for out-of-favour Everton winger Ademola Lookman.
Lookman, a 19-year-old English U21 international, only made the move to Goodison Park from Charlton Athletic in January, but has majorly struggled for game-time since.
He was previously considered to be one of the brightest young talents in English football, with his seering pace and eye for goal having alerted a number of Premier League outfits to his services.
Everton, however, were the only team willing to splash out the required £7.5 million (potentially rising to £11 million) to bring him in, with Toffees boss Ronald Koeman having had the following to say about Lookman in January:
Ademola is a big talent and, at 19 years old, he has a big future in the game.’
I’m really happy that we’ve been able to bring him here to the club.’
‘This is part of the vision we have for the club and it’s important to give to young players the opportunity so that the team continues to evolve and improve.’
‘We believe in the player and in the development of the player which, of course, will take time but he will have a big part to play in the future of the club.’
However, despite his impressive attributes, Lookman has gone on to make just 8 Premier League appearances for the Merseysiders, none of which have come this season.
As a result, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are said to be seriously considering a move for the teenager in January.
