With the disappointment of Jamie Vardy rejecting Arsenal yet to be fully gotten over by Arsenal fans, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to have moved quickly to ensure the Gunners do not end yet another summer transfer window without having signed a reliable striker who will give Olivier Giroud the much needed competition.
According to highly rated Guardian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, Arsenal have agreed personal terms with former Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku and should Arsenal and Everton be able to reach an agreement on a transfer fee that will exchange hands, the Belgian will be playing for Arsenal next season.
Lukaku who had yet another good season for Everton scoring 25 goals and creating six assists in all competition. He was thought to be on his way back to Chelsea but the Blues are said to be more interested in signing Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata who himself has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Lukaku has also been linked with a move to PSG but it seems the Parisiens have dropped their interest in him after it emerged Edinson Cavani will be signing a new deal and staying at PSG for at least the time being.
Lukaku is said to be available for £45 million which if Arsenal pays will be a big surprise. He will reportedly earn £120,000 a week with Arsenal which will make him one of the highest paid Arsenal players.
