Arsenal are weighing up a £10million bid for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, six years on from allowing the 25-year-old to leave the Emirates for £400,000.
The Turkish playmaker has won two Turkish Super Lig titles with the Istanbul-based club since returning in 2012 and boasts an impressive record for goals and assists across all competitions.
During his time with the Gunners he was twice crowned a champion of the English reserve leagues and also lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2009 as part of a squad that also featured a young Jack Wilshere.
Ozyakup is highly-regarded for his intelligence, skill and vision on the ball. He is adept at dribbling past opponents and slicing through defences with his passing and has been directly involved in 70 goals in 193 games for Besiktas.
That number can be broken down into goals and assists with the Turkish international having scored 27 goals himself and set up another 43 for his team mates.
Arsene Wenger’s side are set to lose one or both of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil next year as the duo run down their contracts. If they are not sold in January they could leave for free in the summer of 2018.
TalkSPORT report that the Gunners are planning to offer Besiktas £10million for their former midfielder to fill the gaps that will be left by their out-going match-winners.
