Months before the the January transfer window is opened, Arsenal and their rivals have already started looking for players that will make them more competitive.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Manchester City are all in the race to sign Fabinho, according to the defender’s father.
Fabinho has scored 11 goals in 50 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco since making his debut back in 2015 but the 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Premier League in recent times.
It’s expected that Fabinho will move on from Monaco in the summer transfer window and it appears Europe’s elite will battle it out to sign the Brazil international.
His father, Joao, told J+1: ‘We have been in talks with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and approached by Barcelona.’
However, Pep Guardiola may be favourite to land Fabinho after his father admitted they have a ‘soft spot’ for his Manchester City.
‘We like Manchester United and [Jose] Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City,’ he added.
Fabinho is able to operate either at right-back or as a defensive midfielder.
