AC Milan are being linked with Celtic striker, Moussa Dembele, along with three other top European clubs, including Arsenal.

According to the Scottish Sun, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and of course Arsenal are all interested in Dembele. However, AC Milan sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action during Celtic’s 7-1 defeat to PSG last week.

Dembele is valued at £20m, which is practically pennies for a striker in the current market.

The France u21 international moved to the Scottish Premiership from Fulham in 2016 and has been impressive ever since. Since signing for the Hoops, Dembele has scored a stunning 40 goals in 64 appearances and has provided 12 assists. This season, he’s already netted eight – one of which was Celtic’s only goal during their Champions League loss to PSG.

Dembele has until June 2020 on his current deal and although Celtic will probably try their best to keep hold of him, money talks. If PSG, who the young striker actually played for during his youth from 2004 – 2012, come a-knocking with a fat wad of cash, the Scottish club might not be able to say no.

When asked about the gossip surrounding the Frenchman earlier in the year, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers insisted that while the club want to keep Dembele for the moment, there might be a point in the future where a deal can be met.

“Part of the plan for Moussa coming in here was that, if he progressed how I thought he would progress and if he wanted to move at any time, it was going to be after the second year,” said Rodgers back in June.

“The projection was that he could come here and improve, develop and win trophies and then look as a young player to go and show that he has the consistency to go again the next season.

“To be a successful player, you have to have the mentality to keep going year in, year out.

“He doesn’t change either way. There can be lots of speculation. He gets on with his work.

“There will be a natural solution. There will be something at some point in his career here when there is an offer which is a sensible one for both parties.

“It’s certainly nowhere near that at this moment. He’s a player we want to keep and, if anything ever did come in, we would assess it.

“I haven’t put a price on what that would be. What I know is that he’s a 21-year-old who is developing and growing and has all the qualities to play at the very highest level.”
