“Cazorla has an ankle problem. He will be out for a few weeks as well. I don’t think he will play before the next international break.”
The international break is at the start of October and between now and then, the Gunners will be having 6 matches; Marseille (Away, UCL), Stoke (home EPL), West Brom (Away Capital One), Swansea (Away EPL), Napoli (Home UCL), West Brom (Home Epl).
These are 6 vital games. The Marseille game is important. In our UCL group, the French side seem the weakest and we cannot afford to drop points against them. A win against them and hopefully, a draw between Napoli and Dortmund will put us in good stead ahead of the home tie against Napoli.
The Stoke game is a routine EPL game and the fact that it’s a home game makes it a lot easier. The Potters aren’t really decent away from their slaughters den. West brom in the Capital One is another important game but should Cazorla had been fit, he won’t have been used for the ‘unimportant’ game.
The Swansea clash is also important and it’s going to be a tough one especially since it’s at the Liberty Stadium. The game against Napoli is one Arsenal cannot afford to toy with. Should we win the Marseille tie, a win against the Italians would take us closer to the knock out stages. The clash against Napoli would be a tough one with them flying high in the Serie A.
The last game he might likely miss owing to the injury is the home EPL clash against West Brom. While I am not underrating the Hawtorns, I believe with or without the Spaniard, we should win. West Brom don’t look too decent on their travels.
Since the injury blow has already been struck, how can Arsenal handle his loss? The reason why Cazorla’s injury is a blow is owing to his versatility as he can play through the center and on the both wings but one player that could help alleviate the loss is Tomas Rosicky. Though he also missed the clash against Sunderland through a thigh injury but I don’t think it’s as lengthy as the Spaniard’s. If Rosicky returns earlier, he can help out on the left wing or through the center beside Wilshere and ozil or help provide the needed depth off the bench.
