Reports from the Spanish capital states Madrid has slapped a whooping £60m price tag on want away striker Alvaro Morata. Arsenal and Chelsea have had the Spanish striker under their radar and reports from Marca claims Chelsea have put their money where their mouth is by making £51m bid for the striker.
Chelsea’s offer is £9m short of Madrid’s valuation for the talented attacker. Morata has spent the last 2 seasons with Serie A champions Juventus. Morata was key to the Old lady of Turin winning 2 Scudetto titles. He was also part of the Spanish national team at the Euros and ended the competition with 3 goals.
Arsenal are also interested in bringing Morata who is deemed as surplus requirements at Madrid to the Emirates after losing Danny Welbeck to injury for the better part of next season. Morata who is predominantly physical with a hint of pace will be able to add a different dimension to Arsenal’s attack.
Morata requested for a wage increase to match his wages at Juventus after Madrid triggered his buy back clause, but the club doesn’t think he deserves a pay raise. Reports from Sky sports says that Madrid will be hoping to sell Morata as soon as possible in order to fund the purchase of Paul Pogba from Juventus.
