Arsenal seems to have lost their summer signing target Alvaro Morata as French Ligue 1 champions PSG appears to have been in serious talk with the Spanish and former Real Madrid striker according to a French report.
Real Madrid on their part want to profit from the sale of Morata as they are considering activating his £23 million buy-back clause which they inserted in his contract in 2014 before selling him to Juventus. The plan according to the report is for Real Madrid to re-sign the forward and then re-sale him for a higher fee for another interested club before the end of the summer transfer window.
According to L’Equipe, Real Madrid plan on re-selling the Spaniard for £40 million as talks between the agent of PSG and Morata is advancing. PSG is looking for a striker to fill the void left by the exit of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who will leave the club in the summer as a legend after breaking records in his time in the French capital.
Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez is said to have met with PSG’s sporting director Olivier Letang on Wednesday evening for the second time In ten days concerning the deal as Arsenal’s hope of signing him now seems bleak.
Meanwhile, Morata scored seven Seria A goals this season and at present has scored 27 goals in 93 Seria A games.
