Jose Mourinho will look to show his authority at Chelsea by giving the green light to sell one of the club’s favourite up and coming players. It’s been well documented that Juan Mata could be on the move soon but Cesar Azpilicueta could also be on his way out.
The Spaniard has only played once under Mourinho and is believe to be looking at other options after enjoying great success in the team before the change of manager. Barcelona are closely watching Azpilicueta’s situation at Chelsea as they look for a replacement for Martin Montoya, who wants to leave.
Montoya wants to leave to Catalans to finally start his career and Barcelona want Azpilicueta to fill in hole that would be left behind in his departure. Inter Milan, Marseille and Arsenal are all interested in signing Montoya but the Gunners are desperate to sign another right-back with Bacary Sagna’s future still in doubt.
The 31-year old is still Arsenal’s first choice right back but his contract expires in the summer and there are no signs of a contract extension being signed just yet so Arsenal want to make sure they have preparations in place should Sagna decide to leave.
