For the first time in a very long while, Arsenal have a very large squad with almost all the players unsure of a starting place in the squad.
The bench of Arsenal is currently characterized with quality players, part of which forced Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers to make loan moves.
Among the players currently low in the selection perking order of Wenger’s midfield is Mohamed Elneny. His future was a subject of speculation per Swiss site, Basellandschaftliche Zeitung, with the site claiming his move to Arsenal was a sign of ‘English transfer madness’.
Elneny is yet to start in the Premier League for Arsenal this term. The Swiss website claims the player’s move may have been prompted by the influx of TV money to the English clubs, so as to ensure some financial security.
The reports further claims Arsenal never signed the quality midfielder because we really wanted him but our interest in the player stemmed from the injuries suffered by our midfielders in previous seasons. However, it is hard to prove this as wrong.
Elneny was left out of the entire Arsenal squad that played against Chelsea last weekend, there are now speculations that the player could seek a loan move in January so as to rekindle his career.
With the form of Xhaka and Coquelin, and the imminent return of Aaron Ramsey, Elneny may not be at the Emirates for long.
