Arsenal slumped to the second defeat of their Premier League campaign this term and as usual, Arsene Wenger has only but blamed the referee of the game Mark Clattenburg.
Former Liverpool striker turned pundit, Micheal Owen has slammed Wenger for his comment after the Everton game that his team fought really had.
Owen, however, has dismissed that claim and said Wenger and his players have a different understanding of what battling really is.
‘When he says they ‘fought really hard’, they fought really hard from Arsenal’s point of view,’ said Owen on BT Sport.
‘That’s a passing type of fighting hard, running around a bit.
‘But when you are talking about physically fighting, they are just not designed for that.
‘They are not a team that plays or trains that way.
‘They need to pass a team off the park and when any team gets really physical against them, they find it harder.’
Arsenal slumped to a 2-1 loss at Goodison Park despite taking an early lead and running rings around Everton in the opening exchanges.
Alexis Sanchez put them in front thanks to a deflected freekick, but when Seamus Coleman got the Toffees back in the game just before half-time, Arsenal began to unravel.
