MESUT OZIL’S entourage are convinced the Arsenal star will be chased by Manchester United, according to reports
Ozil is being tipped to join Manchester United at the end of the season with his Arsenal contract expiring in the summer.
The Red Devils want a new No10 to replace the inconsistent Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has toiled after a bright start to the campaign.
Manager Jose Mourinho also seems not to trust Juan Mata in that role, often deploying the Spain international out wide.
And the Mirror say Ozil’s camp think United will try to land him from Arsenal at the end of the season.
Mourinho and Ozil worked together at Real Madrid, helping Los Blancos win La Liga in 2012.
And the 54-year-old is a big fan of the Germany international, who he once labelled as one of the best players in world football.
The Mirror say Ozil’s camp are sure Mourinho will do his utmost to bring the playmaker to Old Trafford.
But they could face competition, with Inter Milan and Barcelona also being tipped to end his stay in north London.
Arsenal still want to tie him down to a contract extension.
But, unless the Gunners challenge for major honours, then Ozil is likely to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.
