There is a good chance that Arsenal’s new signing Mesut Ozil may not be playing for Arsenal tomorrow when they take on Sunderland away from home in the 4th round of the 2013/2014 EPL season. Accord to BBC reporter David Ornstein, Mesut Ozil missed training today due to an illness and may not feature against Sunderland tomorrow even though he is according to the journalist traveling with the team.
Just yesterday Wenger told the world via this pre-match press conference that the 42.5 million pounds signing may be starting the match against Sunderland tomorrow. Although the BBC reporter has not stated whether he will miss the match or not but knowing Wenger, there is a chance of Ozil not seeing any action as the French man is known for not wanting to start players unless they are absolutely fit.
On the other hand, just as expected, Thomas Vermaelen has traveled with the team after returning to training after a long lay off. The sad news is that Per Mertesacker will be missing out due to ill.
There’s also a worry over new boy Mesut Ozil who also missed training today through illness but will make the journey north. Did the Germans eat some bad Bratwurst as they welcomed Ozil to Arsenal?
Not good news, let’s hope Mesut makes it, at least.
