Arsenal ended the summer transfer market as one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League and Wenger has now turned his attention to extending the contracts of his players.
Reports according to the Metro claims Mesut Ozil is on the verge of signing £200,000-a-week contract with Arsenal.
Arsenal have been in talks with the star midfielder but the disagreement over his wage demand has stalled initial talks.
The Daily Mirror claims that the Gunners are confident over securing the 28-year-old on a new long-term contract following fresh talks during the international break.
Ozil seem to be content with life in North London and has reportedly acquired a new mansion – he is now ready to commit his future with Arsenal.
Ozil has less than two years remaining on his current deal worth £140,000 a week.
Should Ozil sign the contract offer from Arsenal, it would make him the club’s highest earner.
