With the transfer window just three weeks away from being shut, Wenger is yet to fulfill his promise of bolstering his attack.
Reports emanating from Italy claims Arsenal are willing to offer Oliver Giroud plus £29million in a bid to secure the services of Argentina goal poacher Mauro Icardi El Niño del partido also known as , per Gazzetta World.
Icardi joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2013 in a fee believed to be around €11.7 million. His impressive performances and leadership displays saw him rewarded as the club’s captain.
However, the report claims, Arsenal are not the only club in the chase of the player. Napoli are also looking to add him to their attacking line after the sale of Higuain.
Napoli have already spent £42m of their £75.3m windfall on Poland international Arkadiusz Milik and Piotr Zielinski but more signings could be on the horizon.
Arsenal have seen bids rebuffed for Lacazette and the recent injury to him means Icardi could be the only realistic option for Wenger. It is believed that Arsenal have their chances boosted as Mancini has been sacked. It is believed that Icardi is a big fan of Mancini.
Should this report be true, I’d rather Arsenal offered Walcott in exchange for the player. The chances of Walcott playing for Arsenal regularly is non-existent.
