Medical Passed: Arsenal To Announce Deal For Sensational South American Winger – Not Rodriguez

The number of players that have left Arsenal in this tranfer market has been more than the number of players signed to the club.

We have seen Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta moved away from the Emirates after seeing out their contracts but we are likely to see another exit from the Emirates with reports claiming Sporting have made enquiries over the availablity of Arsenal winger Joel Campbell.

Campbell is reported to be a long-term target for the Portuguese giants and they failed in an attempt to sign him last summer.

Despite being impressive last season, the Costa Rican  has fallen out of favor with Wenger, with the likes of Chamberlain, Iwobi and Walcot above him in the selection perking order. His best bet at first team football is a move away from the club.

Benfica tried to sign the 24-year-old when the current boss of Sporting Jorge Jesus was incharge at Benfica.

After several loan moves away from the club, he made 30 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side, scoring four goals.

He was absent from the squad for Sunday 4-3 defeat to Liverpool, although the injury Iwobi sustained in that game could see Campbell remain in North London.
