The Arsenal manager has been very busy in the transfer market over the past week after seeing his depleted squad drop points in the first two games of the new season.
With the signings of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez now confirmed, Wenger appears to be interested in balancing out his transfer business this summer by approving a couple of outgoing deals as well.
Despite Arsenal’s knack of being troubled by injuries and having to call upon fringe players as the season progresses in past, the Gunners have confidentially allowed useful options like Joel Campbell and Calum Chambers to leave on loan.
And it appears that the club will also sell a player for the first time in this transfer window on deadline day with reports now claiming Serge Gnabry is set to join Werder Bremen on a permanent transfer after refusing to sign a new contract.
According to Sky Germany, the 21-year-old, who impressed for Germany at the Olympic Games, is set to return to his homeland with Bremen.
Asked to confirm the report, the player’s father, Jean-Hermann Gnabry, told Stuttgarter Zeitung: “Yes, it’s like that.”
