The Gunners are wrapping up what is expected by most fans to be one of several defensive additions this summer as Unai Emery embraces his new job at the Emirates stadium.
The new Arsenal manager was announced as the replacement for Arsene Wenger just over a week ago and the Spanish tactician, who managed Paris Saint-Germain last year, seems to be eager to improve his squad before pre-season begins.
As a result, several rumours have claimed that the Gunners are eying a deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
And according to German source Kicker, Arsenal are now working on the ‘final details’ of the deal to sign the experienced Greek defender.
Sokratis has also reportedly been scheduled to undergo a medical in north London within the next few days as he edges closer to completing the transfer move.
The 29-year-old, who has been earning £90,000-a-week in wages, spent almost five years at Dortmund.
