Het Laatste Nieuws journalist Kristof Terreur has revealed that Arsenal have been offered the chance to pursue Yannick Fereira Carrasco from Dalian Yifang during the ongoing transfer window.
The Belgium international made the surprise switch from Atletico Madrid during the backend of the previous campaign and he has since impressed with seven goals and five assists for Yifang.
Despite this, he appears keen on making a comeback to European football and Terreur has revealed that the Gunners have been offered the opportunity to acquire his signature.
Still, the deal remains far from straightforward with the Belgian having to take a significant paycut while the Gunners are restricted in terms of the transfer budget for the transfer window.
Arsenal have been hampered in both the attacking and defensive facets of their game this term and they are currently without Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck for the former of those roles.
In that, Welbeck has been sidelined for the rest of the season with a broken ankle and this seems to have encouraged the need for a replacement, given Mkhitaryan won’t return to action until mid-February with a foot problem of his own.
Carrasco would unquestionably provide the added pace and trickery from the flanks, should he make the move, but the Gunners may not prefer a straight-cash deal which Yifang are said to be after.
